Ukrainian Drone Attack on Moscow Region Kills 3
RUSSIA – At least 3 people were killed in an overnight Ukrainian drone attack targeting an apartment block in the Moscow region, according to the local governor Andrey Vorobyev on Sunday.
“Khimki (Starbeevo microdistrict) – a woman died as a result of a drone hitting a private home. Another person is under rubble….. Two men died in the village of Pogorelki (Mytishchi). The drone hit a house under construction,” Vorobyev wrote on the Russian social media platform Max.
At least 12 people were injured following a series of Ukrainian aerial strikes targeting several areas, including Dedovsk, where 4 people sustained injuries (3 men and a woman).
Several buildings were damaged in the village of Agrogorodok, with several apartments in Railway also getting damaged.
In Naro-Fominsk District, a home caught fire, but there no reported casualties as of this report.
An oil refinery was also targeted in Moscow but local reports indicate the operations were not affected in any way.
“According to preliminary reports, 12 people were injured. Mostly near the oil refinery’s checkpoint, the construction workers were among those injured,” Vorobyev said.
Rescue operations were ongoing as several infrastructure facilities were targeted in several municipalities, according to local authorities.
According to Russia, at least 556 drones were intercepted, 130 of them being in the Moscow region.
