USA – The US Senate on Tuesday confirmed 107 Trump nominees under the new rules that were adopted last month, in a move aimed at speeding up delayed confirmations.
Senators voted 51-47 along party lines to approve the nominees, which included ambassadors, agency heads and US attorneys. Among those confirmed were former Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker as ambassador to the Bahamas, Sergio Gor as ambassador to India, and David Fink to lead the Federal Railroad Administration.
The first group of 48 nominees was approved three weeks ago.
The rule change came after Democrats blocked an earlier agreement to speed up the process before the August recess, leaving hundreds of nominations stalled for months.
