US-Israeli Airstrikes on Iran Target Gandhi Hospital in Tehran, Overnight Explosions Reported
IRAN – US-Israeli airstrikes on Iran on Sunday targeted the Gandhi Hospital in northern Tehran, with footage broadcast on state television showing broken windows and damage to parts of the hospital’s facade.
Following the attack, heightened security measures were put in place around the hospital and medical teams conducted inspections inside the building.
In the footage, nurses were seen evacuating newborns from the hospital and attempting to transfer them to another location.
Earlier, the Iranian Red Crescent Society released images suggesting that its headquarters and several hospitals had been targeted in the strikes.
Explosions Reported in Tehran and Karaj Overnight
Explosions were reported overnight in Iran’s capital Tehran as well as the nearby city of Karaj, Iranian media reported early Monday.
Tasnim News Agency said airstrikes also targeted Isfahan, Yazd and Khuzestan.
A joint US-Israeli military campaign launched Saturday has already killed several senior Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Tehran has carried out drone and missile strikes targeting Gulf countries.
Casualties from the escalation include three US service members killed and five seriously wounded, according to initial reports.
