After US-Israel Strikes, Iran Strikes Back, Adding Harsh Response Coming
ISRAEL – After US-Israel strikes on Iran, Tehran launched missiles, with explosions heard in the Haifa area in northern Israel, according to local reports.
Earlier, air raid sirens sounded in several areas across Israel after missiles were identified as launched from Iran toward the country, the Israeli army said.
Israel launched attack against Iran early Saturday under the name ‘Lion’s Roar,’ declaring a “special and immediate” state of emergency across the country.
US President Donald Trump also confirmed “major combat operations” in Iran aimed at defending the American people by “eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime.”
Iran Says Preparing Harsh Response
Iran is preparing a “harsh response” to Israel, state television said Saturday, after Israeli strikes on the country.
In a brief statement posted on its Telegram account, the broadcaster said: “Iran is preparing a harsh response to Israel.”
Iraq Closes Airspace
Iraq closed its airspace on Saturday following the US and Israel’s attack on Iran, the Transport Ministry said.
The Iraqi News Agency quoted ministry spokesperson Maytham Al-Safi as saying the closure was announced after all civilian air traffic had been cleared from Iraqi skies.
