IRAN – US-Israeli strikes on Iran‘s Zanjan province killed 5 civilians and injured 7 others, according to authorities on Saturday.

Zanjan Deputy Governor Ali Sadeghi said the deaths occurred when a residential building was targeted in an airstrike.

He added that the injured were transferred to hospitals.

In another report, the University of Science and Technology in Tehran was targeted by US-Israeli strikes, according to local media on Saturday.

There has been no official statement on casualties or damage.

The Israeli army announced earlier that it launched a new wave of attacks on Tehran as part of joint operations with the United States.

Saeed Shemkadri, a faculty member in the electrical engineering department of the university, was killed when his home was targeted in US-Israel attacks March 23.

For nearly a month, the US and Israel have carried out an air offensive against Iran, killing more than 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damaging infrastructure, while disrupting global markets and aviation.
