IRAN – US-Israeli strikes across Iranian residential areas on Saturday killed at least 12 people, according to local reports.
Iran’s state television reported that a US-Israeli strike targeted the village of Hizab in Markazi province in central Iran, hitting a residential house and killing six civilians while injuring seven others.
In a separate incident, the Ilam governorate said a strike targeted a residential house in the city of Eyvan in western Iran, causing a powerful explosion that destroyed the building.
It said six members of one family were killed in the attack, including a 6-month-old infant.
Rescue teams were continuing debris-removal operations at the site in Eyvan, the governorate added.
Since Israel and the US launched joint attacks on Iran on Feb. 28, killing some 1,200 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, hostilities have escalated.
Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
