RUSSIA – An overnight Ukrainian drone attack targeting the Russian Baltic Sea port of Ust-Luga resulted into fire, according to authorities on Wednesday.

Aleksandr Drozdenko, the governor of the country’s northwestern Leningrad region, said on Telegram that a total of 56 drones were shot down in the region after an air alert sounded overnight.

The fire is being extinguished, Drozdenko said, adding that the roof of a residential building was damaged in the town of Vyborg.

Based on preliminary reports, no one was injured, Drozdenko said.

Later on Wednesday, the Defense Ministry said in a statement that Russian air defenses had shot down 389 Ukrainian drones over 13 regions, including Leningrad and Moscow, as well as over Crimea, which Moscow annexed in 2014.
