UKRAINE – The Russia-Ukraine conflict latest updates as Ukraine and Russia exchange drone attacks in the latest escalation in the conflict despite the ceasefire talks. An apartment building (Mirax Park residential complex on Vernadsky Avenue) in the southwestern part of Moscow on Thursday was hit by a Ukrainian drone, shuttering windows and causing minimal damage and no casualties.
Several explosions were also heard in various parts around Moscow, with several drones being shot down over the capital.
Another drone struck the roof of a residential apartment in Odintsovo.
Ukraine Shot Down Russian Drones
Ukraine says it shot down 56 of 90 drones launched by Russia since Wednesday evening.
According to Ukraine, the drones were targeting Sumy, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions.
On Thursday, Ukraine says Russia launched various drones from Millerovo, Orel, and Kursk regions, but the Ukrainian army were able to use anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems teams, and mobile fire groups to repel the attacks and down the UAVs.
Russia-Ukraine Combat Clashes in the Frontlines of War
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Thursday stated that Ukrainian forces had engaged in over 200 combat crashes, where over 50 assault attempts were successfully repelled.
According to the statement, the most fierce crashes were centralized in Pokrovsk, with Russian forces launching two missile strikes using three missiles, conducted 93 airstrikes, and dropped 176 guided aerial bombs in the last 24 hours.
From the General Staff, there were 5,430 shelling attacks, including 158 from multiple rocket launch systems (MLRS), and 3,279 kamikaze drones deployed in total.
