KENYA – Several people are feared dead in a Sunday morning road accident in Kenya involving a public service 33-seater bus and a concrete truck mixer.
The accident occurred in Machakos county at a junction, where the truck and the bus collided head-on.
According to local reports, several passengers died on the spot as the bus was completely mangled at the front.
Eyewitnesses said that the truck lost control, before steering off its lane and collided onto the bus which was heading in the opposite direction from Nairobi to Machakos town.
The collision resulted to the bus rolling over on one side spewing its contents on the road.
Another Collision Kills 6
Today’s accident follows another one yesterday, Saturday, involving a public service 14-seater vehicle and a lorry, which claimed 6 lives.
The accident occurred in the same Eastern Kenya region in Makueni county.
Among the dead were 4 students who had just finished sitting for their final high school exams.
Eyewitnesses said the lorry rammed onto the stationary vehicle, completely destroying it.
