Russian Forces Take Over Some Parts of Kupyansk

RUSSIA – The Russian forces continue to advance, with commander of the 1486th Motorized Rifle Regiment saying on Monday that his unit have made significant progress in last 24 hours in Kupyansk.

He stated that they’ve taken control along Dzerzhinsky Street in Kupyansk, liberating seven large buildings and one factory technical structure.

“My unit continues its mission in the industrial zone in the eastern part of Kupyansk. We have completely liberated the territory of the bakery,” he said.

He added that the attack aircraft were conducting reconnaissance and striking enemy positions in the forest park area southeast of Olivino station.

Kupyansk is a key city for the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defense in the eastern part of the Kharkiv Oblast. It is located on the Oskol River, which divides the city into two parts.

It serves as a natural defensive line and a natural barrier along which the front line runs.

Capturing the city will allow for crossing the river and advancing further west in the region.
