Russia-Ukraine War Latest News as Both Report Drone Attacks

UKRAINE – These are The State Signal’s Russia-Ukraine war latest news today: Both Russia and Ukraine reported drone attacks overnight, with Ukraine claiming a successful drone strike on Russia’s Novocherkasskaya power plant in the Rostov region.

Ukraine accused Russia of striking an infrastructure target in Ukraine’s Odesa region.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry said six Ukrainian drones were shot down in the Rostov region, neither confirming nor denying damage to the power plant.

Russian media, however, confirmed the facility was hit, reporting that falling debris from a downed drone caused a fire at a part of the plant.

A drone alert was on Monday at 12:11 pm local time issued in Crimea by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, with emergency services urging public vigilance.

“Urgent information: drone threat in the Republic of Crimea,” the alert said.

Ukraine’s F-16 Fighter Jet Shot Down

A Ukrainian F-16 fighter jet was shot down using the S-300 air defense battery, according to a Russian commander.

“It took us a lot of time to prepare for this operation. We were tracking it and anticipating it. The enemy boasted that these planes were indestructible. As it turns out, they fall out of the sky just like the rest,” the commander said in an interview with Russia 1 TV on Sunday.

2 Killed in a Ukrainian Attack in Kherson Region

2 civilians were killed and another one injured in a Ukrainian attack on Kherson region in last 24 hours, according to the regional Governor Volodymyr Saldo.

“Over the past 24 hours, two people have been killed and one injured due to the Kyiv regime’s aggression. In the Golopristan district, overnight shelling of Novuldymyrivka and Chulakovka resulted in the deaths of two men. The enemy carried out a terrorist attack on a civilian vehicle in the village of Tarasovka in the Aleshkinsky district. One person was injured, and the vehicle sustained significant damage,” Saldo said on the Russian platform Max.

The governor added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled Aleshky, Kakhovka, Nova Kakhovka , Velyki Kopani, Velyka Lepetikha, Gornostayevka, Kamenka , Knyaze-Grigoryevka, Malaya Lepetikha, Peschanovka, Chernyanki, Kairy and Zavodovka.

Odesa and Surrounding Regions Without Power

The Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Oleh Kiper said on Monday that Odesa and surrounding regions were left without power following Russian attacks overnight.

“At night, the enemy once again attacked the residential and energy infrastructure of peaceful Odesa region with strike drones,” Oleh said.

According to Oleh, the attacks resulted to property damages and injuries to 2 people.

In other reports, Russian attacks on Kyiv region resulted to property damages according to Mykola Kalashnyk, the Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.

“As a result of the night attack in the Vyshhorod district, two private houses and farm buildings were damaged. Windows were broken, facades were damaged, and roofs were destroyed,” Mykola said.
