RUSSIA – The Russian forces have captured new settlements in the Donetsk People’s Republic, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
In a statement on Friday, it said that over the past week, the Southern Group of Forces liberated the settlements of Fedorovka and Markovo, with over 1,460 Ukrainian military personnel getting eliminated.
In a Saturday statement, the ministry said that the Russian forces had struck temporary deployment points on the Ukrainian army in the Kramatorsk-Druzhkivske direction.
“After the targets were identified by reconnaissance, the coordinates were transmitted to the Grad MLRS and Msta-B howitzer crews. As a result of a precise, massive rocket artillery strike, the enemy’s temporary deployment point in one of the populated areas was hit,” the statement said.
Ukrainian Drone Attack Kills 2 in Belgorod Region
Belgorod governor Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov announce that a bus driver was killed and a passenger injured after the bus targeted by a Ukrainian drone attack.
“On the Kazinka-Posokhovo section of the Valuysky District highway, a drone attacked a service bus. The driver died on the spot from his injuries. I express my most sincere condolences to all the relatives and friends of the deceased,” he announced on Telegram.
In the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, Shebekinsky district, a man was injured when a drone exploded. The doctors did everything possible, fighting for his life until the last moment, but the injuries turned out to be incompatible with life, he noted.
“Another civilian resident was wounded from an FPV-drone strike on a car in the vicinity of Borki village, Valyujskii district,” the governor wrote.
According to Gladkov’s statement, the man was transported to the Valuyka Central District Hospital in critical condition. He sustained mine-explosion trauma and penetrating abdominal wounds. The vehicle also suffered damage.
Ukrainian Shelling in Kherson Region Injures 8
At least 8 people were injured – 5 in Oleshky, 2 in Heroyskoye and 1 in Kakhovka – after Ukrainian forces shelling.
At least 63 strikes from barrel artillery were reported in populated areas of Dnieper, with another 18 having been reported at night.
17 others involved UAVs.
The shelling targeted at least 13 settlements according to local reports.
Ukrainian Drone Strikes a Fire Station in Pervomaysk
The Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Luhansk People’s Republic reported a Ukrainian drone attack on a fire station in the city of Pervomaysk on Saturday which resulted to material damage.
“An enemy UAV attack on the fire station of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in Pervomaysk . As a result of the attack, two units of special equipment, two civilian vehicles, a field kitchen and a profile fence were damaged,” the report said.
Ukrainian UAVs Downed
In the last 24 hours, the Russian forces downed 160 Ukrainian drones and 5 guided aerial bombs according to a statement by the Russian Defense Ministry on Saturday, adding that the Russian forces also struck and destroyed ammunition and materials depots for the Ukrainian forces.
“Air defense systems shot down five guided aerial bombs and 160 unmanned aerial vehicles of the aircraft type,” the ministry said.
