Russia Supports Iran’s Peaceful Nuclear Programme

RUSSIA – President Vladimir Putin has affirmed that Russia Supports Iran’s peaceful nuclear programme, emphasizing that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has found no evidence suggesting Tehran seeks to build nuclear weapons.

“The fatwa in Iran banning nuclear weapons is of great importance,” he added, underscoring the religious ruling as a key element in Iran’s stance.

Putin also stated that Russia is prepared to assist Iran in the development of its civilian nuclear program.

“We believe Iran has the right to use nuclear energy peacefully, and we are ready to help,” Putin said.

Moscow had informed Israeli leaders multiple times that “Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons,” urging dialogue to reduce regional fears and promote collective security.
