As the US-Iran war continues, with tensions rising over a flaring ceasefire, Iran on Wednesday announced that its Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) had targeted American military bases in Middle East after the US launched attacks on southern Iran, in what was referred to as a "self-defense" over the downing of an American Apache attack helicopter over Strait of Hormuz on Monday.
According to IRGC, an aerial attack hit the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, with videos shared online showing an explosion following the attack.
The IRGC added that it had also targeted the al-Azraq base in Jordan.
Kuwait and Jordan reported that they were responding to missiles.
The US conducted strikes on Iran targeting Jask, Qeshm Island, Minab, Sirik and Bandar Abbas then later announced that it had completed its retaliatory operation, in a move that seeks to maintain the fragile ceasefire.
Both Iran and US claimed that their retaliatory attacks had fully accomplished their intended work.
Tensions in the region continue to rise, as the Tuesday US strikes come just after Israel and Iran exchanged attacks over Israeli targeting of Beirut.
Iran has warned that no attack will remain unanswered.
