PALESTINE – Mass starvation in Gaza Strip as a result of Israeli blockade have killed at least 15 Palestinians in the last 24 hours according to Gaza health ministry on Tuesday.
“Hospitals in Gaza reported 15 deaths, including four children, due to starvation and malnutrition in the past 24 hours,” the ministry said in a statement.
The latest fatalities brought the number of deaths from malnutrition to 101, with 80 of them children, since October 2023.
Earlier, medical sources told Anadolu that a diabetic patient, a child, and an infant also died after suffering from severe nutritional deficiencies.
Palestinian officials and rights groups have warned of a rising death toll from hunger, particularly among vulnerable groups such as children, the sick, and the elderly.
Gaza is enduring one of the worst humanitarian crises in its history, with famine spreading across the enclave amid ongoing genocide by Israel since Oct. 7, 2023.
Since March 2, Israel has sealed all border crossings, blocking the entry of food and medical aid. As a result, acute malnutrition symptoms have appeared among children and chronically ill patients.
