At Least 9 Dead After Deadly Kyiv Air Strikes Today: What We Know

UKRAINE – At least 9 have been confirmed dead after deadly Kyiv air strikes today carried out by Russia. According to the Ukrainian State Emergency Service, over 60 have been injured and over 40 have been hospitalized.

The Aftermath of the Kyiv Air Strikes

5 districts of Kyiv were targeted by air strikes, damaging some residential buildings and causing fires which were later put out.

There were people trapped under debris and emergency responders were undertaking search and rescue.

Zelensky had to cut short his official visit to South Africa and return home.

“I am cancelling part of the program for this visit and will return to Ukraine immediately after the meeting with he president of South Africa.” He stated.

What Russia is saying in Regards to Kyiv Airstrikes

Russia’s Ministry of Defense earlier stated that it had launched massive airstrikes on Ukrainian military enterprises where rocket fuel and various types of gunpowder are produced.

It added that all targets were achieved and destroyed.

“Tonight, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out a massive strike with high-precision long-range air, land and sea-based weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles against enterprises of the aviation, rocket and space, mechanical engineering and armored industry of Ukraine,” Russian Defense Ministry said.
