Israeli Strikes on Southern Lebanon and Gaza Continue
LEBANON – Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon on Monday killed at least 2 people as Israeli forces targeted the town of Shahour in the Tire district, in continued ceasefire violations.
The Israeli army also launched airstrikes in the towns of Debaal and Qana in the country’s south following an evacuation warning issued to four villages.
While the town of Mansouri came under artillery fire, the Israeli army carried out raids on the towns of Zawtar al-Sharqiya and Braashit in the Nabatieh Governorate.
The Israeli army has launched expanded strikes in Lebanon since March 2, killing more than 2,600 people and displacing over 1.6 million others, according to official Lebanese figures.
On April 17, US President Donald Trump announced a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, before he extended the truce by three weeks until May 17.
Israeli Attacks on Gaza Strip Kills 1
A Palestinian was killed by Israeli army fire in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, in the latest violation of a ceasefire in place since last October, according to medical sources.
The source at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City said the body of Mousa al-Abyad, 44, was transferred to the facility after he was shot by Israeli forces in the Atatra area west of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza.
Local sources said the Atatra area lies outside the zones of Israeli military deployment and control under the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
They added that Israeli artillery shelled eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City at dawn, while Israeli naval forces targeted the coasts of Rafah and Khan Younis in the south with gunfire and shells. No casualties were reported.
At least 830 Palestinians have been killed and 2,345 others injured in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire on Oct. 10, 2025, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
The ceasefire agreement was reached after two years of Israeli genocidal war that began Oct. 8, 2023, with US support, leaving more than 72,000 Palestinians dead and over 172,000 injured, along with widespread destruction affecting about 90% of civilian infrastructure.
