PALESTINE – An Israeli drone strike on Gaza City’s Shejaiya neighborhood on Saturday killed a Palestinian and seriously injured another one, despite a ceasefire being in effect.
An Israeli drone carried out a strike on the Al-Shamaa area of the Shejaiya neighborhood, eyewitnesses said.
Earlier on Saturday, the Israeli army launched airstrikes and artillery shelling on various parts of the Gaza Strip.
Israeli forces have carried out daily violations of the ceasefire in place since Oct. 10, which have killed 691 people and wounded 1,876 others as of March 18, according to Health Ministry data.
Israel launched a war on Gaza in October 2023, killing more than 72,000 Palestinians, wounding around 172,000 others, and devastating about 90% of civilian infrastructure.
