PALESTINE – Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip today have left at least 83 Palestinians dead and dozens injured as Israel steps up its strikes across the strip.
28 Palestinians waiting to obtain humanitarian aid were killed by Israeli army fire in central and southern Gaza early Thursday according to medical sources.
Israeli warplanes also bombed the Mustafa Hafez School in western Gaza City, where hundreds of displaced civilians have sheltered, leaving 13 people dead and dozens injured, Wafa news agency said.
In the central city of Beit Lahia, three people were killed in artillery shelling targeting a gathering of civilians, medics said.
Three more people, including a woman, were killed and several others injured in a strike on tents for displaced families in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
Another Palestinian was killed and three others were wounded in a separate Israeli strike near a care center in Jabalia in northern Gaza.
Wafa, however, did not specify where the other victims were killed.
Despite international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a genocidal war on Gaza, killing more than 57,012 Palestinians, most of them women and children, since October 2023.
