PALESTINE – At least 40 people were killed and many others injured after Israeli forces continued attacks across Gaza Strip on Friday.
According to witnesses and medical sources, Israeli strikes targeted tents of displaced families as well as gatherings of civilians in several parts of the territory.
In central Gaza, medical sources said a Palestinian was killed and others wounded in a strike on a civilian gathering on Al-Azayza Street in Deir al-Balah.
Another Palestinian was killed and several injured in a separate strike near Abu Srar junction in Nuseirat refugee camp.
In southern Gaza, two Palestinian siblings, both children, were killed and others wounded when Israeli shelling struck a displacement tent in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis at dawn.
The Palestinian official news agency Wafa reported that 14 more Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire and shelling in several areas of the Gaza Strip.
Five bodies were brought to Al-Shifa Medical Complex, three to Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, five to Al-Awda Hospital, and one to Al-Aqsa Hospital, Wafa said.
In Gaza City, several people were wounded after Israeli shelling hit a tent near Al-Tawhid Mosque in Al-Shati refugee camp.
Six others, including women and children, were injured in Israeli artillery fire near Al-Sousi junction in the same camp.
Witnesses said the army used remote-controlled explosive vehicles to blow up buildings and facilities near the intelligence headquarters area in northwest Gaza City and in Tel al-Hawa neighborhood in the south of the city.
Meanwhile, in Rafah, several Palestinians waiting for aid distribution were injured by Israeli gunfire near the Shakoush area, medical sources confirmed.
