Iran Always Ready for Negotiations or War; Abbas Araghchi

IRAN – The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Wednesday said that Tehran isn’t afraid to engage in negotiations on any issues which are outstanding, while also affirming Iran’s readiness to war.

“We have no fear of negotiations, just as we have no fear of war,” he stressed.

The United States have stated that it intends to restart negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program, but Tehran is approaching the initiative with caution basing on the fact that Washington can’t be trusted.

While Iran says that doors to talks are open, it has warned that it cannot blindly trust US’ words.

Israel together with the US attacked Iran in June, despite calls for negotiations from Washington.

Iran Won’t Submit to Western Pressure

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei in an interview with Xinhua News Agency said that Tehran has right to develop peaceful nuclear energy, adding that it’ll not submit to western demands depriving it.

“As long as we are a party to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), we should be able to exercise our rights… Iran is not going to submit to their illegal demands,” Baghaei said.

The official noted that after the US withdrew from the JCPOA in 2018 and reinstated sanctions against Iran, the EU-3 failed to fulfill its obligations.

The European trio – the UK, France, and Germany – have pressed to have the sanctions on Iran reinstated, accusing Tehran of refusing to live up to their commitments under the JCPOA.

The troika returned their sanctions against Iran after the American withdrawal. It also lent support to the Israeli-American aggression by both endorsing the war and forcing the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) into passing an anti-Iranian resolution that was used as a pretext to launch the aggression.

“As we see, three European countries are simply acting on the instructions of the United States,” he added.
