Two police officers were killed in targeted attacks in Pakistan's Bannu city, in what authorities termed as acts of terrorism.
The first officer identified as Constable Mishqat Amir was attacked by unidentified assailants on Friday morning while returning home from a gathering at the Bannu-Miranshah Road.
He died on the spot from injuries.
The second officer identified as Constable Muhammad Roshan was attacked late Thursday at Saidgi Baka Khel, where he was shot by unidentified men outside his residence.
Local authorities said that he was shot while standing outside his residence, and he died in hospital from gunshot wounds.
Authorities were on a manhunt for the perpetrators as of this news report.
Heavy rainstorms in Lahore left at least 3 people dead and a trail of destruction in the city as well as in some areas of Punjab in the last several days, according to local authorities and witnesses, as of late Thursday.
Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds and lightning swept the regions, felling trees, electric posts, blocking roads and causing numerous damages to property.
