Entire Village Killed in Sudan Landslide

SUDAN – An entire village is said to have been killed, leaving only one survivor in a Sudan landslide that struck western Sudan on 31st August.

According to the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army (SLM/A), over 1,000 people were killed in Tarsin village, in the Marra Mountains after heavy rains triggered landslides.

The SLM/A group, which controls the area located in Darfur region, appealed to the United Nations and international aid agencies to help recover the bodies of victims, including men, women and children.

The SLM/A stated that the village have been levelled after the landslide.

Sudan is faced by war between the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
