RUSSIA – An 11 years old boy was on Tuesday killed and a guard injured in a knife attack by a 15 year old teenager at a school in Moscow region, Russia.
The incident took place in the Gorki-2 settlement, Odintsovo district of the Moscow region, the Russia’s Investigative Committee said. “As a result of the stabbing wound, the child succumbed.”
Ksenia Mishonova, the children’s ombudsman for Moscow region, confirmed that a fourth-grade student died after the knife attack.
“To our great sorrow, a child, a fourth-grade student, has died in the school. There are also injured individuals,” she wrote on Telegram.
According to local reports and video footage, the teenager planned for the attack by wearing tactical-style clothing and arming himself in the washrooms.
The investigation organization said it opened a criminal case following the incident.
