NIGERIA – Nine people lost their lives on Saturday in a car crash in Nigeria’s Katsina state when they were returning from a wedding ceremony according to locals.

Four among them were from the same family according to a local resident.

Road crashes in Nigeria have risen of late, with another accident having claimed 5 lives the previous day (Friday) involving a truck that crashed into vehicles after brake failure.

The road accidents in Nigeria have often been attributed to poor roads as well as over-speeding.
