CHINA – A bridge collapse in Yancheng city, in China’s Jiangsu province killed at least 2 people, while 3 others remained missing, according to local reports on Tuesday.

The accident occurred Monday evening when part of the unfinished bridge suddenly gave way.

The 2 workers who died had been pulled from the wreckage alive, but due to the severity of their injuries, they died in hospital.

Emergency services were dispatched immediately, and search-and-rescue operations continued through the night.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the collapse.
