ISRAEL – An Israeli soldier was killed by an anti-tank RPG in Gaza City according to local reports on Tuesday.
While citing an army investigation, The Times of Israel said that an Israeli officer was injured when a Hamas operative fired an RPG at an Israeli tank.
He later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
In a military statement, the army confirmed the death of 27-year-old Shahar Netanel Bozagli, without giving further details.
He is the first soldier killed in Gaza City after the army launched a ground offensive under the Operation Gideon Chariots 2 last week, the Times of Israel said.
