INDIA – An Indian Air Force trainer aircraft crashed near Tambaram in Chennai on Friday afternoon with a solo pilot.

The pilot was able to eject safely according to local reports.

The involved aircraft was a PC-7 Pilatus trainer used for beginner flight training.

The single-seater trainer aircraft went down around 2.50pm.

Standard safety measures were carried out, with emergency teams responding to the scene of the crash and airlifting the pilot to the base.

The Air Force confirmed that a Court of Inquiry has been initiated to determine what led to the accident.
