Encircled Ukrainian Soldiers Getting Destroyed; Russian Defense Ministry

RUSSIA – The Russian Defense Ministry on Friday said that its forces continue to destroy the encircled Ukrainian soldiers in Krasnoarmeysk and Kupyansk.

Situation in Kupyansk

In Kupyansk, the “Zapad” unit is said to be destroying the encircled Ukrainian troops since they’ve been scattered.

“Clearance of scattered enemy groups is underway in the settlements of Kupyansk-Uzlovaya, Kurilovka, and Petrovpavlovka in the Kharkiv region,” the Ministry said.

Situation in Krasnoarmeysk

The Ministry added that the “Centre” unit was continuing to destroy the formations of the Ukrainian forces in the western industrial zone of Krasnoarmeysk in Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).

“The clearing of Ukrainian militants from the settlements of Gnativka and Roh is underway; 45 buildings have been liberated in the past 24 hours,” the Ministry said.

Situation in Zaporizhzhia

The Ministry said that the “East” unit have already completed the liberation of Uspenovka village in the Zaporizhzhia region, adding that this is one of the most fortified districts of the Ukrainian forces on the left bank of the Yanchur River.

“Uspenovka is the second-largest and most important settlement in the Gulyai-Polye district, and the largest in the Uspenovka bridgehead. The village stretches along the Yanchur River for more than five kilometers and is a complex fortified area, filled with firing positions and fortifications,” the Ministry said.

Importance of Kupyansk

Kupyansk is a key town for the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defense in the eastern part of the Kharkiv Oblast. Situated on the Oskol River, it divides the city into two parts.

It serves as a natural defensive line and a natural barrier along which the front line runs.
