RUSSIA – Russian president Vladimir Putin on Thursday nominated Alexander Gutsan as Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, according to Chairman of the Federation Council Constitutional Committee Andrei Klishas.
“In accordance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the federal law on the Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council has received a proposal from the President of the Russian Federation for consultations on the appointment of Alexander Vladimirovich Gutsan to the post of Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation,” Andrei announced.
Igor Krasnov Nominated as Chief Justice
Andrei also added that Putin nominated Igor Krasnov as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
“In accordance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the Federal Constitutional Law on the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council received a proposal from the President of the Russian Federation to appoint Igor Viktorovich Krasnov to the post of Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation,” he said.
