PALESTINE – An Israeli strike on Saturday killed the Hamas spokesperson Abu Obeida according to reports on Sunday.
An apartment in Gaza was targeted by a strike, killing everyone inside, and it’s believed that’s where Obeida lived.
Abu Obeida’s family and the al-Qassam Brigade leaders later confirmed his assassination after viewing his body.
He was the spokesperson for the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades.
Israeli Confirmation
The Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz claimed on Sunday that the spokesman of Hamas’ military wing, Abu Obeida, was assassinated in the Gaza Strip.
Katz said on the US social media company X that Abu Obeida was eliminated in a joint operation by the Israeli army and the Shin Bet domestic security agency, without giving further details.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also claimed that Abu Obeida was the target of a joint operation between the army and the Shin Bet.
