PAKISTAN – At least 8 people died from heavy rains in Pakistan’s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, bringing the death toll from rain-related incidents to at least 406 since August 5.
According to Rescue 1122’s statement on Sunday, heavy rains and strong winds caused widespread infrastructure damage as multiple incidents of damage to trees, walls, and solar panels were reported.
The Kyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said that the death toll included 305 men, 55 women and 46 children.
PDMA‘s report indicates that at least 247 people have sustained injuries in rain-related incidents – which include 30 children, 175 men and 38 women.
Flash floods and the heavy rains in Pakistan have so far resulted to the destruction of at least 3,526 houses.
