Israel-Iran Truce: Iran Denies Ceasefire Violation

IRAN – Iran have denied that it have violated the Israel-Iran truce announced on Tuesday, dismissing claims that it fired missiles in the occupied territories of Palestine after the ceasefire came into effect. This comes after the Israeli Defense minister Israel Katz ordered IDF to conduct intensive strikes on Tehran, stating that Iran had violated the ceasefire.

Iran said that while it honors the ceasefire, it’ll retaliate to any attacks by Israel.

“Iran has not launched any missiles toward occupied Palestinian territories in the past few hours,” the Iranian Armed Forces said in a statement cited by the semi-official Tasnim news agency.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, for its part, vowed to respond decisively against “any act of aggression” by Israel.

“We achieved a victory that forced the enemy to accept defeat and unilaterally halt its aggression,” the council said in a statement.

The Israel-Iran Ceasefire; Both Parties Agree

Israel officially confirmed agreeing to a bilateral ceasefire with Iran on Tuesday, following a proposal from US President Donald Trump.

“In light of achieving the operation’s goals and in full cooperation with President Trump, Israel agreed to the president’s proposal of a ceasefire by both sides,” a government statement said.

Israel claimed the elimination of threats in Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile areas and full air control in the skies of Tehran, in addition to causing severe damage to Iran’s military and governmental sites.

The Israeli government expressed appreciation to Trump over “defensive support and participation in removing the Iranian nuclear threat.”

“Israel will respond forcefully to any violation of the ceasefire,” the statement said.

Iran has also confirmed that it has agreed to a ceasefire with Israel since Tehran’s military objectives have been achieved, the Iranian Supreme National Security Council has announced.

Iran’s top security body announced the national decision to impose the cessation of war on the Zionist enemy [Israel] and its vile supporters in a statement on Tuesday.

The Iranian military without any trust to the words of the enemy and with their hands on the trigger, are ready to deliver a decisive and deterring response to any violating act by the enemy,” it warned.

Tehran delivered a humiliating and exemplary response to the enemy’s cruelty,” including a missile attack on the US base in Qatar on Monday and the latest wave of strikes against Israel.

The courage and sacrifice of the Iranian military forced the enemy into regret and accepting defeat and the unilateral cessation of its aggression,” it added.

Ceasefire in the Israel-Iran Conflict Takes Effect

A ceasefire between Israel and Iran came into effect at 0400GMT Tuesday following hours of intensified mutual hostilities.

Iran’s IRGC said that a total of 11 retaliatory missiles were fired in five salvos on Israel in the hours leading up to the ceasefire.

According to the Israeli emergency medical service (MDA), four people were killed and two moderately injured by an Iranian missile on a residential building in the southern city of Beersheba. MDA also reported 20 wounded with minor injuries.

“The building is in a very populated area, and there is a lot of destruction, a large part of the building collapsed, and there are people trapped,” the deputy mayor of Beersheba was quoted by Israeli Army Radio.

Explosions were also reported in Tel Aviv and central Israel, Israeli media said.

Iranian missiles targeted the northern city of Haifa and Ramat David Air Base in the north, Press TV said.

Israel’s airspace has reopened after a short period of closure due to Iranian missiles, Israel’s public broadcaster KAN said on Tuesday.

Iranian missiles came in response to overnight Israeli attacks, in which the Israeli army targeted Iranian military sites and commanders in Tehran, and killed a nuclear scientist, Mohammad Reza Siddiqi, according to Iran’s state TV.

Seyyed Mostafa Sadati Armaki, another nuclear scientist from Kashan, central Iran was killed along with his entire family by an Israeli strike on Monday, according to Press TV.

At least nine people were killed and 33 injured in the western province of Gilan by the latest Israeli attacks, the semi-official Tasnim news agency said.

Four residential buildings were completely destroyed, and a large number of houses were also damaged, the agency added.

Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee said Israeli warplanes carried out attacks on the western region of Iran, claiming to have destroyed missile storages and launcher platforms that were ready to launch as part of the last missile salvo on Israel.

Iranian media said the ceasefire came into effect after the “final salvos” of missile fire.

Meanwhile, there was no official confirmation of the ceasefire from the Iranian authorities.

The Israeli government announced in a statement on Tuesday that it has agreed on the ceasefire proposal of US President Donald Trump with Iran, claiming to have “removed the double existential threat in the nuclear and the ballistic missile areas.”

“In addition, the IDF (Israeli army) achieved full air control in the skies of Tehran, severely damaged the military top brass, and destroyed dozens of Iranian central government targets,” the statement said.

The ceasefire was initially announced by Trump, who said it would involve a phased halt to operations, with Iran beginning the ceasefire first and Israel following 12 hours later. A full end to hostilities would then be declared at the 24th hour.

Qatar was reported by Israeli media to have mediated the agreement.

Iran launched a barrage of missiles at the US military’s Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar on Monday, marking a dramatic escalation in tensions following the US targeting of three Iranian nuclear sites on Sunday.

The US attacks were the latest escalation in a US-backed Israeli military assault on Iran since June 13, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory attacks on Israel.
