RUSSIA – The Russian delegation led by presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev met with the US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, and White House Senior Advisor Josh Gruenbaum in Florida.
“The teams discussed a variety of topics and agreed to stay in touch,” Witkoff said on the US social media company X’s platform.
“We discussed both promising projects that could contribute to the restoration of Russian-American relations, as well as the current crisis in global energy markets,” Kirill wrote on Telegram.
According to Kirill, many countries, primarily the United States , are beginning to better understand the importance of oil and gas from Russia for the global economy, as well as the ineffectiveness of sanctions against Moscow.
Russia, Ukraine and the US previously held three rounds of peace talks – Jan. 23-24, Feb. 4-5 and Feb. 17-18 – the first two of which were held in the United Arab Emirates capital Abu Dhabi.
The most recent round took place in Geneva, Switzerland.
