PAKISTAN – After the latest Indian attack on Pakistan in response to the Pahalgam terror attack in the India’s Operation Sindoor, tensions between the two neighbors are at its highest with continued cross-border attacks.

On Thursday morning, multiple explosions were heard in Pakistan’s Lahore and an Indian drone was shot down near Walton Airport.
Several air routes in Lahore and Sialkot for all commercial flights were suspended.
Indian Drone Attacks on Pakistani Soldiers Injures 4
At least 4 Pakistani soldiers were injured following Indian drone strikes on Wednesday in northeastern city of Lahore.
Briefing journalists in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, Lt. Gene. Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry said that India “once again” violated Pakistan’s airspace during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, while sending a dozen intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance drones.
He said all 12 Israeli-made Heron drones “were shot down by Pakistani forces in Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Attock, Ghotki, Gujranwala, Chakwal, and other cities.”
He also added that a civilian was killed in the Ghotki district of southern Sindh province.
Indian and Pakistani Forces Exchange Fire at Border
India’s ANI News Agency on Thursday reported that Pakistan “opened unprovoked fire” along the Line of Control in India’s union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Overnight to May 8, Pakistani army posts opened unprovoked fire from firearms and artillery along the entire Line of Control near Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, and Akhnoor in Jammu and Kashmir,” the agency reported, adding that the Indian army, “responded proportionally.”
India’s Operation Sindoor Ongoing
India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has told an all-party meeting that the recently launched “Operation Sindoor” against Pakistan is an ongoing operation.
After Singh’s statement, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju added that “we will support the government and armed forces,” and that everyone congratulated the armed forces on Operation Sindoor.
Singh’s meeting with Indian political parties came as Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting with officials of various ministries and departments to review “national preparedness and inter-ministerial coordination” in light of recent developments “concerning national security.”
