AUSTRALIA – The Australian police reported on Thursday that at least 3 people were killed in a shooting at Lake Cargelligo area in New South Wales.
New South Wales police said an operation was underway “following reports of a shooting where three people have died at Lake Cargelligo” area.
The incident happened at Walker Street, near Yelkin Street in the Lake Cargelligo area.
“Three people – two women and a man – have died,” the police said in the statement.
It added that a man has been taken to a hospital “in a serious but stable condition.”
“The public is urged to avoid the area and for local residents to stay inside.”
The gunman “is still at large,” ABC News reported.
“A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances of the incident has commenced,” it added.
“As there has been a number of shootings and the offender has not been detained – please stay indoors until the advice changes,” Roy Butler, local lawmaker, said in a statement on the US social media platform Facebook.
