Bomb Explosion in Maiduguri Nigeria Kills 8

NIGERIA – At least 8 people were killed and several others injured in a bomb explosion at a mosque in Maiduguri Nigeria on Wednesday, Dec. 24.

According to witnesses, the bomb went off inside a crowded mosque in Gamboru market where worshipers had gathered for evening prayers.

The explosion occurred midway prayers, with the actual bomb’s presence not yet confirmed whether it was placed inside the mosque before, or a suicide bomber was among the worshipers.

The authorities haven’t yet released the official death toll from the bombing, and no group have claimed responsibility yet.

Maiduguri is the capital of Borno State, which is home to jihadist groups like Boko Haram.
