USA – Three people were critically injured on Monday evening after a REACH Medical Services helicopter crash on Sacramento freeway.
“There has been a harrowing helicopter crash on 50 eastbound west of 59th St.,” Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty said on the US social media company X’s platform, thanking first responders at the Sacramento Fire Department.
The helicopter belonged to the REACH Air Medical Services who later confirmed their medical helicopter had a crash, having 3 onboard – the pilot, nurse and a paramedic.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crew included 2 females and 1 male and were transported to nearby hospitals in critical condition.
The helicopter lay upside down after the crash, trapping one crew member underneath.
Large debris scattered around the crash site, with road expected to be closed for some time.
